MicroOLED displays
Over 13.1 million pixels are packed into dual 1-inch OLED displays in an RGB striped layout. Each pixel is just 7.2 μm wide – 7 times thinner than a human hair – with response times measured in nanoseconds. The result? No more screen door effect, dull colors, gray shadows, or motion blur you became accustomed to with older-generation LCD-based VR headsets. Beyond supports 75Hz and 90Hz refresh rates.

We designed a next-generation 3-element lens composed of glass, plastic polymers, films, and coatings that results in a smaller, lighter form factor and massively improved optical clarity compared to older-generation single-element Fresnel lenses.

Scan your face using our app
After you pre-order your headset, we'll email you to begin the 3D face scanning process. This requires an Apple iPhone XR or newer, as the face scan utilizes the TrueDepth sensor. Our software generates a detailed sub-millimeter precision 3D mesh of your face in order to achieve a perfect fit.

Measuring your face shape and IPD
The scan takes 5 minutes. Our computer vision technology measures the distance between your eyes (interpupillary distance, or IPD) and the contours of your face. The headset is built to your IPD to ensure the optics line up with your eyes, and a custom foam cushion is built to the shape of your face.

Manufacturing your custom-fit cushion
After the scan is verified by our team, our factory in Los Angeles, Calif. begins building your cushion. Due to the custom-built nature of Beyond, it may take a few weeks or months to manufacture and fulfill your orders. Once the cushion is made, it's paired with a headset of your IPD size and shipped directly to you.

We've designed a foam cushion material that is skin-safe, non-porous, and comfortable. VR headsets can get dirty with use. The Beyond face cushion doesn't absorb sweat, and is easy to keep clean: just handwash gently with dish soap.

Stereo Microphones
Voice is one of the most important elements in a VR headset. Beyond has an array of studio-grade microphones with high-end components and membranes that provide astounding sound quality. This provides high-fidelity audio without plosives, compression, or artifacts in multiplayer games and social VR.

Proximity Sensor
Beyond features a tiny proximity sensor near the nose. This sensor detects when the headset is being worn. When not worn, the displays automatically turn off, preventing screen burn-in and prolonging the life of the headset.

5m Fiber Optic Cable
The headset is powered by a custom, ultra-lightweight 5-meter fiber optic cable that connects to the USB-C port on the left side of the headset. The cable is easy to remove or replace. The cable connects the headset to a Link Box. The Link Box has a DisplayPort cable and two USB 3.0 cables, which connect to the PC.

USB-C Accessory Port
The USB-C port on the right side of the headset connects to Beyond's Audio Strap or other 3rd-party accessories such as USB-C to 3.5mm audio jack adapters and headphones. The port provides power and USB 2.0 data speeds to accessories, and is capable of driving high-end high-impedance headphones.
